The doorsheet of the firebox of CNJ 113 was removed and a new sheet will be fabricated and installed. Approximately 220 new flexible staybolt sleeves have been installed on the backhead. We will continue to weld sleeves--between 150 to 200 per week to the wrapper and throat sheets. A 2006 steam-up is likely. |

When did the 113 last operate at the breaker? 1950s or 1960s? |

Number 113 was rostered on the CNJ until May of 1953. At that time it was sold to the Pottsville based P&R C&I Co. It last ran at the breaker in January 1960. In 1980 it was donated to the Historic Red Clay Valley Museum in Wilmington, Delaware. In 1986, 113 was purchased by RR Project 113 to return it to the anthracite area. |
