Hi,Here is a link that is interesting. No, not the BNSF and NS power in the front but if you look closely at what is in the background you will notice a construction fence around the Virginian Station. Does this mean that Restoration is soon to begin on it? Maybe Gary Gray can chime in here with a comment on it. I do know that the Roanoke Chapter of the NRHS has plans to restore it.link here : http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=123023I have already heard the cracks about BNSF ( Buy Norfolk Southern First)and that bNSf one too. Andrew, You missed the "No Steam" one. I really am not sure of the timetable on the roof replacement (first step in the restoration process). I know that the funding was in the recent transportation bill, but when the check is received is another question. Ken Miller, the current Chapter president, worked on the Shenandoah Valley trips yesterday, but we didn't discuss the station project. |
