Anyone know how the Monticello Railroad Museum is coming along with this project? Wasn't it supposed to have a new boiler by now?

The new boiler was delivered in June. Rear furnace bearers are applied, and we fabricated new furnace bearers for the front of the firebox to replace the original waist sheet arrangement. We have just recently finished taper reaming the smokebox-to-saddle bolt fits, and new bolts are being fitted now. We hope to bed the smokebox down on the saddle before it gets too cold. The spring rigging is being finished up as well. We would like to get the drivers under it this winter, but will see how it goes. It's moving slowly, but we are making progress.Kent
