It's been a looooong time since Doyle McCormack laid eyes upon a lettered Nickel Plate Road PA-1... Today, he carefully peeled away the stencils, he was just about to shed a tear when I asked "Well, what are we waiting for? Lets take it outside!"It's amazing how far along this PA has come, and it's looking better by the week!http://www.f40phr231.org/nkpletter1.jpghttp://www.f40phr231.org/nkpletter2.jpg

Have to agree, it's amazing to see how far they've come.Even from just a sheet metal/body work standpoint, it's quite the transformation. Now, how soon can we expect to see this engine in say, Indiana, perhaps lined up for photo ops next to another recently unveiled and equally impressive NKP engine ?? This is why we dare to dream !

Beautiful! Just Beautiful. Imagine what pair of these would look like on the Main Line. Hats off to Doyle & Co for making it work!

I would have liked to see the look on his face. Nice job, Chris. You guys won't see a pair of them unless Doyle restores the other survivor. This one is progressing nicely. In July, Doyle said "two years."

Good Lord. I can't believe that's the same basket case I stumbled upon south of Salem, Oregon back in 2002!
