Nice pic, Bobyar. That engine is everyone's favourite at MNG. I like #8 as well though. Regards |

Trevor,One seems to hear more about the two Monson engines you have there. What is happening with the two Bridgton locomotives, now that, at long last, you have both of them there?I assume that the plan is to run both of them at some point? Now that there are only two or three Maine cars left at Edaville, USA; do you think any of them will come to the Maine Narrow Gauge Museum?Ted Miles |

I think stopping deterioration of all of them is a top priority. I think the next in line for returning to service will be #7, but that's merely a conjecture. The bottom line is, it takes a lot of money, time and effort to keep an engine in steam. If silmoultaneous use of more than one locomotive isn't economically advantageous or neccesary, than you in many ways may just be doing a lot of work and spending a lot of money sheerly for the purpose of saying " We have X locomotives operating". Being successful operating steam in this day and age requires careful planning to insure you are making best utilization of the resources of available to you. The good news is, compared to what a lot of other groups have to work with, all 4 engines are basically in excellent condition.Regards,Trevor |
