#12 at FL Gulf Coast RR Museum, Parrish, FL

#13 at RR Museum of PA, Strasburg, PA

#14 at DE & Ulster Rail Ride, Arkville, NY

#15, now Thomas the Tank Engine at the Strasburg RR

#16 at Railroad Museum of Long Island, Riverhead, NY

Make a note that railroad historians Ron Ziel and George Foster, who wrote "Steam in the 60's" and the LIRR history "Steel Rails to the Sunrise", saved both 12 nad 16 from scrapping. These engines were to form the base roster for a proposed tourist railroad on Long Island, to be built upon the remnants of the old Sag Harbor branch, and to be called the "Sag Harbor and Scuttle Hole Railroad". Both engines passed on to other owners subsequently. I would hate to see 12, 13, and 15 all decked out as "Thomas", despite the service he performs as a steam ambassador! The BEDT fleet is possibly the sweetest assortment of tank locos ever gathered by a single owner; an eclectic assortment of side and saddle tankers. At present, 16 is back on Long Island, sitting off her drivers and awaiting serious restoration at the RMLI. Exactly what her condition is, or what needs to be done to fire her remains a bit of a mystery. She is painted and attended to as a static attraction, but beyond that, funds to rebuild her are not in place. RMLI is concentrating on rebuilding G5s #39, RS3 #1556, and one or two coaches.
