Overland route cars purchased from a failed motel/restaurant in the Salt Lake City area for use on BM&R. At one time these cars were modernized with a rounded roof covering up the clearstory. They were both damaged enroute to the Blue Mountain & Reading and ownership has since been transfereed to a private individual. |

At least 2 of these cars are ex-UP modernized heavyweight coaches, I believe of the 500 series. I've got the numbers somewhere, just not handy. One of them has what was the beginning of an attempt to add an open platform. The turtleback-style sheet steel shrouds that UP added to cover the clerestories (sp?) to make the cars appear more streamlined have been removed, as noted by a previous poster. |

I was just speaking with someone who remembers there being 3 cars in this group, with Baltimore and Ohio lettering showing through on at least one of them. Tom Cornillie |

The car with the B&O markings is privately owned and was not part of the deal for the Overland route cars. |
