Judging by the general well-kept appearance, it looks like the photo was taken during Rail Tour's M&P days in York. PA. This was one of George Hart's early tourist operations. The slightly bent pilot indicates the photo was taken after the derailment at Ben Roy curve, ca summer 1965(??). M&P had a roundhouse of sorts in York (three stall shed) with a turntable, but I don't remember that 1286 was ever moved over there. It usually sat over the ash pit next to the yard office. The roundhouse was concrete block with wood doors. In the photo, the building appears to be wood construction, so I have my doubts that the photo was taken on the M&P.

I would guess it's taken at The CRRofNJ roundhouse at Bethlehem, Pa. in 1968 during the period that I had leased George Harts 2 Pacifics for the High Iron Co. excursions. My best guess? Ross Rowland
