...for my ignorance, but what is/was the crescent-star-eagle symbol that greeted me this weekend wishing me a Happy Thanksgiving on the RyPN Home page?Something to do with the American Orient Express? Some other line? Inquiring minds want to know!BTW, hope it was a happy holiday for all of you!sc 'doc' lewis

*groan*..........I must concede that, at first, some member of the RyPN staff had posted the emblem of some labor union or socialist workers' group, for unknown reasons......But then I remembered what it reminded me of, and went and double-checked against a couple of my reference sources..........It's apparently one of many variations of the emblem of the Turkish State Railways or whatever they call themselves these European-Union-denationalization days...........Turkey...................... get it?

That's the emblem of the state railroad of Turkey, too?Darn, I though it was the new socialist workers party symbol.Whatever, I have recently realized the error of my ways my entire life and RyPN is due for some big changes in content. But don't worry, we'll still cover railroad workers too!Seriously, I was wondering if anybody was ever going to say anything. Should have realized it would be Mr. Mitchell. There are some changes coming but hopefully they will be pretty much behind the scenes and transparent. (Said that before.)

Ok Ok, I wasn't sure what the symbol was either, but I wasn't going to be the first to ask! However, I did know that Mr. Mitchell would have the answer.I hope you all had a happy holiday!

Irecognized it immediatly as the emblem of the Turkish National Railways. Considering it was Thanksgiving, the connection was certainly dry and humorous. I'm glad it had nothing to do with "Tofu National Railways".
