FYI, there is a heavily stripped GE 70T switcher (#53), sans traction motors, cab glass, and all cab parts, sitting at the end of track just outside of Belfast, Maine. Just a little further inward, at the absolute end of rail is an antique wooden boxcar with a channel steel outside frame. The trucks are very old and there are no brake shoes on one end. It is sitting over a badly eroded section of track, at the bay's edge. Probably either, or both are available. Other buildings remain sealed and abandoned. Alongthe waters edge, the old Stinson Cannery is being ripped down for ocean side condos with private wharfs. Right across for the local sewerage treatment plant!Go Belfast! |
