Massive building for a relatively small railroad. Probably more clerks once worked in that building than total of employees today on UP's former T&P system:http://abpr.railfan.net/abprphoto.cgi?may04/05-07-04/t+p02.jpg |

What's really interesting about the T&P depot is that the T&P never moved from Dallas to Fort Worth. I do not think that the building was ever fully occupied until WWII when the Federal government rented it for office space. By the way the depot is now being used by the Trinity Rail Express as the western terminus of the Fort Wort/Dallas rail service using the old RI line via Irving. The building's concourse has been restored to it's Art Deco splender and is open to the public to and from the TRE trains. Also the upper floors are now being rehabed for a hotel or apartments or offices or a combination of all of those uses.Fred Crissey |
