I'm curious: Are/were there any narrow-gauge Brill or Edwards railcars that operate[d] in North America? Any preserved, if so?

The East Broad Top's M-1 is a Brill, IIRC.If the EBT were in a healthier financial situation, I think they'd be a great home for at least one new Edwards car. Some of those Edwards trailer cars would be good regular-service replacements for those poor, tired old Revere Beach combines, too.

If I'm not mistaken, the M-1 was built in the EBT's own shop, utilizing some parts ordered from Brill. Perhaps someone can confirm this, and provide more information on which components were "homebuilt" and which were supplied by Brill.

Everything I have seen published shows the EBT car as home built with Brill parts. It does look like a Brill, but is not.There is one Model 50 narrow gauge car at the Laws Museum, near Bishop CA. It is the former Death Valley RR car. It was recently returned to operation.

The story was told to me that EBT ordered the car from Brill and Brill decided to supply parts directly to EBT. This was due to the fact that Brill at the time did not want to build a special narrow gauge car. Like I said, this is how it was explained to me by an EBT mechanical volunteer one cold November day in the shops.
