Does anybody know what has happened to the C&O #2700? I know there was a disagreement between the STEAM museum and the owners. Was it sold to the Illinois Railway Museum or an IRM member? I believe I remember reading that in either Trains or Railfan several years back. Are the eventual plans for it to move from Dennison, Ohio to the IRM and if so what is to become of C&O #2707? Which is in the best shape? Thanks for any information.

Check out Wes Barris' site on Berkshires/Kanawhas.
He may not have all the info you're looking for, but there's a good bit of stuff on each survivor.

Locomotive #2700 is in fact at Dennison, Ohio. It will soon become part of the Dennison Depot Museum's display train. Plans call for her to head up a "Pennsy" painted consist of two boxcars & five passenger cars on the museum's siding, east of their depot. (news source: Dennison Railroad Depot Museum's newsletter "Timetable" dated July/September '01)

#2707 is located at IRM in Union, IL after spending approx. 30-years on display at Brookside Park in Cleveland, OH.

Both locomotives are in pretty bad shape and thus will probably never be more than "display pieces".

Grant - Thanks for the info. It is really too bad that the 2700 appears destined for a static display. I knew that the 2707 was beyond hope of operating. Hopefully the 2700 will at least be made whole again. Loved your videos when you were doing them. Still have them all. The GTW 6325 at the OC looks great, especially with the righting of her originally lopsided front end (one pump/shield). Hope to make it to her maiden voyage or another excursion. Any ideas when that would be? Looks like she is getting really close. Super job to all at the Ohio Cental!
