In Toronto in 1974:http://abpr.railfan.net/abprphoto.cgi?may04/05-12-04/CN6213atCNExhibitionTorontoONT7-74JT.jpgAnd later in 1980:http://abpr.railfan.net/abprphoto.cgi?may04/05-12-04/CN6213atCNExhibitionTorontoONT7-11-80JT.jpgThe group planning a rail museum inside the John Street Roundhouse in Toronto were making plans to steam this locomotive again. Not sure if that is still planned.

They could retrieve spare parts from sisters in the east as well. 6200 is in Ottawa, 6153 in Montreal, 6167 and 6218, all of which were excursion queens at one time. One of these gorgeous Northerns would be a great steam ambassadors for CN, if they take a hint from their main competitors. Any fans associated with any of these locomotive have a report on their condition? The style and colors of on of the 5700 class Hudsons would be equally welcomed!

CN Northern 6213 is owned by the City of Toronto. Plans are underway to move the locomotive from the CNE to the new railway museum located in former CP's John's Street Roundhouse.

The roundhouse WOULD have been a great museum and home base for 6213, but all the tracks to and from the roundhouse to the active main are gone. Not only that an underground parking garage has been built underneath the area where the tracks were previously. I have been told that the parking structure will not support the weight of an engine overhead. All this is a shame as the roundhouse is in beautiful condition, and outside a coaling tower and water tank still exist.I wish the TRHA good luck, but significant (read expensive) work would have to be done to get 6213 in and out of her proposed new home.http://www.steamwhistle.ca/heritage.htm ... ter23.html
