I know CSRM does a Santa Fe pattern and a SP pattern, RRMPA does the PRR china, B&O does the Royal Blue, EL Dining Car Preservaton Society has that one, and NCTM does SR's Peach Blossom.. does any other museum or historical society carry dining car china or related items in their museum stores? Feel free to drop me a note directly.. jwrinn@trainsmag.com. Cheers! Jim

B&O Museum gift shop at times seems more like a china shop.Age of Steam in Dallas has MKT and ATSF: http://www.dallasrailwaymuseum.com/railroadchina.html The list could be long; as I recall, even the New York, Ontario & Western Chapter NRHS issued some reproduction NYO&W china! Now I guess I'll wait for the news of East Broad Top and Sandy River & Rangeley Lakes or WW&F repro china!

The ELDCPS has done both the Erie's Starrucca pattern china and the Lackawanna's Phoebe Snow pattern. Right now we are in the first stages of reproducing the Lackawanna's St. Albans pattern. The C&O china is neat because they have actually used it in their diner Gatsby's Tavern. We hope to use the Erie china in our Erie diner and the Lackawanna diner using Lackawanna china.

CSRM does two Santa Fe patterns: Mimbreño and California Poppy. A long time ago another reproduction version of Mimbreño was available at the B&O Museum, it was produced by a company ("Nostalgia Station")in Shrewsbury, PA.Steve ZuiderveenImageImage

While I don't mean to steer off topic too much with this, I bought a plate from the NYO&W Chapter at a meeting earlier this year. It looks more like a charger or ceremonial plate, since it depicts a milk maid and a few corn stalks. Very elaborate, which leads me to believe the pattern would not work well with regular meal servings. This also led me to see the O&W herald as being an ear of corn in a circle. Any idea if this was their intent? Or is it more a matter of you see what you want to see?

The piece done by the O&W Chapter was meant to be used as a service plate. It would be placed on the table when you sat down and then removed when the food is served. Technically a charger plate stays on the table and other pieces are placed on top of it.Normally, we would call this a fantasy piece - the NYO&W never had a china pattern like this. However the current day NYS&W actually uses this plate as a service plate in their business car. Back in 1990 I was involved in creating a china pattern for the NYS&W that was both a fund raiser and to supply the railroad with its own china. This china is used in conjunction with the O&W plate.By the way, I also created a unique pattern for the Morristown & Erie as well.[/quote]
