Whatever happened to the GP-7(?) pieced together in 1987 or so by the RF&P? At the time it had been repainted into an earlier paint scheme and the story was it was to run off some service miles before being donated to a museum. I have photos of it in consist at Alexandria, VA in active freight service. Did it ever make it into a preservation existence? If so, what is its current location and condition?

Thanks in advance, DTM

The 101 is currently owned by the Old Domion NRHS and leased to the Buckingham Branch Railroad in Dillwyn VA. You can go and see it in service nearly every day now since they started the operations at the new WestVaco chipmill.
Those of us up on the Richmond and Alleghany sub (former C&O Mountain, Peidmont, and Washington) drop hints every now and then that it needs to come strut its stuff up here and may be even spend some time in Doswell, but so far, no luck....
