Where did this turntable (at Readsboro, Vermont, on the Hoosac Tunnel & Wilmington, in 1936) end up? I thought it was saved when the RR abandoned. To the Valley RR perhaps, though can't remember seeing it there.

This is from a listing of info on turntables moved for reuse by museums or tourist lines in the US and Canada. In 1972 a 60' manually operated Hoosac Tunnel & Wilmington RR turntable from Readsboro, VT was donated to Steamtown USA after the In 1971 abandonment of the line. This turntable is believed to have come to the HT&W from the West River RR in VT, abandoned in 1938. It may have been meant for use as a bridge on a narrow gauge line around the Steamtown grounds but it was never used. On 1985 it was sold to the late Jim Robinson and stored in his firm's yard near Newport, NH. Its current status is unknown.

In other words the table was brought to Steamtown and never used. When they moved to PA it was sold as part of the clean-up of the old site. Any further info on what happened to it after that, or corrections to the above, would be welcome. I now have info on 85 turntables that have been moved for reuse by museums and tourist lines, only 32 of which are in use now. There are a lot stored until someone comes up with the money to reinstall them, which is expensive. Only seven are known for sure to have been scrapped. And 13 have been moved twice. One is now at Altoona, and was the subject of a recent thread.
