Post subject:  IRS Fees to go up-File 1023 package for 501c3 b4 7/1/2006
The IRS announced, in News Release IR-2005-144, that many of the fees in charges will go up in 2006. This includes fees associated with obtaining a "determination letter" from the IRS recognize your "exempt purpose".

If you are anticipating filing a 1023 package to seek 501(c)(3) status, nows the time. Sale ends when postmarks say 7/1/2006 or later.

Initial application for exemption under § 501 or § 521 from organizations (other than pension, profit-sharing, and stock bonus plans described in § 401) that have had annual gross receipts averaging not more than $10,000 during the preceding four years, or new organizations that anticipate gross receipts averaging not more than $10,000 during their first four years

As a service to RyPN readers I would be happy to send a sample of our IRS Form 1023 to anyone who requests it. I spent some time completing the form which we submitted to the IRS on Febuary 11, 2005 and which was approved on March 11, 2005.

The form itself is a PDF document on which you enter the requested information. It's a snap to complete and file and our sample will show you what's expected from the IRS as we were successful in getting ours approved fairly quickly.
