One of those creations, which, if done in HO, O or G scale would most likely get the builder laughed right out of the model RR club. It's like something from the AWNUTS display at The Big Train Show. It reminded me of the Ludlow & Southern (Mojave Desert of Calif.) RR attempt to "repower" an elderly 4-6-0 by removing the boiler and installing a Holt tractor engine. (L&S went out of business before the project could be completed, but a photo in Railroads of Nevada and Eastern California shows the attempt)

Aarne is right. As unbelievable as it may seem, this is really no different from what the vast majority of private car owners do in the name of "preservation" and "restoration". Very, very few privately owned passenger cars are actually rebuilt to anything remotely resembling their original configuration. Many of these passenger cars have been butchered far beyond the point of no return - to the point where you really don't even know you're in a railroad passenger car at all.

Is this guy on DRUGS???!!! Good thing it is not on connected track--- otherwise we'd have to get out the "tox box" and hand him The Cup.

And those NYC-design transfer hacks are cool. They also make great MOW cars.

That car is in Mount Holly New Jersey. The person who owned it used to own the station. I think it was a deil. He built the roof himself.
