OK, tonight made the final change/upgrade to the Interchange which I hope will be the end of it for at least a year, if not longer (I can dream).

The software has been upgraded to the latest version, V2.0.19, which means little to our users except that we are as secure against hacking as we can possibly be. The version upgrades will remain a fact of life as people devoted to nothing but hacking PHPBB bulletin boards will continue to search for vulnerabilities, and the PHPBB authors revise the software to close the vulnerabilities. But, hopefully we're good for another 6 months anyway.

The really big change is we upgraded the Moby Threads. The new version bumps old threads to the top when a new post is added, which was a major deficiency in the old Moby software. So, our Moby Thread modded flat PHPBB bulletin board is now as close to WEBBBS as it can be. So, I hope you thread view users appreciate the new version (and how long it took to upgrade everything else so we could install it).

Again, no more big changes anytime soon (I hope). With revisions this massive there are probably going to be some bugs, and we appreciate your patience in reporting them (to me) and fixing them. Probably tweak a few of the templates and forms some, but it looks pretty good to me as is.

So, once again, a big thank you to Amherst Society (http://www.amherstrail.org/) for their grant which made the consolidated Interchange archives a reality, and one of the minor changes coming in the near future is a permanent link to their website in the header of the Interchange.

And, again, thanks to Doug Baily at Sunserver (http://www.sunserver.com/) for assistances rendered in more ways than can be discussed in a short note.

So, here it is, the whole RyPN Interchange archive going back to 1998, and into the future, in one place, in a searchable database, using user friendly software. Hope you enjoy it!

Kind sir:

What changes do you have to make so that when we're looking at the forum in "Flat View", when we click on a topic we see it also in "flat view" and not "Thread View"?

Not anymore. The problem was an unexpired cookie from rypn. As soon as I cleared out cookies, everything worked fine. Dunno why. But wouldn't worry about it.

Regards,
Doug
