Dear Kevin: The Railway & Locomotive Historical Society has and publishes the complete list of American Locomotive Company locomotives built at all their plants (and predessors). Photographs are available from ALCO Historic Photos. J.David |

Ken, I also have builder's records from most of the builders that I have built up over 40 years. I have the R&LHS records as well as a back up library where I can double check some of the construction numbers on locomotives. I use it all of the time to research locomotive builder's plates. Ken, Try the Mohawk and Hudson Chapter of the NRHS. Their website is at http://www.crisny.org/not-for-profit/ra ... ndex.shtml (I know. It's a weird URL). I was told several years back they had some of the Cooke records. I tried to get some information from them back then about a locomotive built at the Cooke works, but trying to get something out of them was like pulling teeth. Lots of promisses, no action. Maybe you will have more luck. |
