Hi all
I have noticed that PMs dont leave the out box untill the person receiving it checks their inbox. I have sent several out and they are still in my outbox so the persons I sent them to has not looked at their messages.
This can be agrivating for 2 reasons.
1. If a person who is a member of RYPN doesnt have his email listed then how do we contact them except via Private Message?
2. Sometimes Messages are time related and they would need to be read fairly quickly due to importance.
An Example is I sent one out on Nov 30 and it hasnt been received by the person yet.
I dont know if there is a better way of doing PMs or not.
Should they be linked to the individuals email with the email still hidden so the person will get both an email and a PM making sure the message is received.
I know that I receive emails from RYPN stating that I have gotten a PM but that is all. Also RYPN puts a little window up on my screen when I login to the Interchange to let me know too.

Andrew, I suggest you just send an email to the person using the email button (displayed in their profile or at the foot of their posts) instead of PM.

You can also just post a request in the thread itself asking the person to contact you back-channel.

I would have done that but some of them dont have their Email Button activated so that leaves that out. I actually notice you dont have an Email Link at the bottom of your post ;-)

Do you view the board in flat view or in threaded view? In flat view I see an email button for myself and all the other posters I check--but that might be an artifact of my admin permissions.

I discussed this with Hume and found out he has the same problems with email buttons not showing up for him under a regular login.

For what it's worth, I see e-mail buttons for both of you.

However, based on playing with my account settings, it seems that checking "NO" for "Always show my e-mail address:" hides the button on my account.
