A class 44 (three-cylinder coal burner) on display in the village center of Altenbeken: http://www.railfaneurope.net/pix/de/ste ... 9seite.jpg http://www.railfaneurope.net/pix/de/ste ... 44-389.jpg A class 43 (oil burner) that pulled the last revenue freight train in West Germany in 1997, now displayed at the hauptbahnhof in Emden (north Germany) from which it last ran: http://www.railfaneurope.net/pix/de/ste ... 3903_1.jpg http://www.railfaneurope.net/pix/de/ste ... 3903_3.jpg These photos from 1997. How do they look today? |

Attatched to a brick building (engine shed?) at Halle. From the wheel on the smokebox, I presume this is the East German city of Halle, not the smaller one in the west. http://www.railfaneurope.net/pix/de/ste ... 0_0006.jpg |

Another photo of the German Pacific displayed at Braunschweig, taken in 1998, already looking a little tired. Remember when you were a kid looking up at the big engine in the park? http://www.railfaneurope.net/pix/de/ste ... hweig4.jpg Plus another 01, displayed in Switzerland, with shelter and a North American-style fence: http://www.railfaneurope.net/pix/de/ste ... _bild2.jpg |
