After my first year on a freight short line, and seeing a fair share of both derailments and major track work, I have to wonder, is this actually true? Both cost LOTS of money, man hours, delay trains, etc. etc. |

I heard a similar remark several times on the Milwaukee Road: "Try to keep them between the fences, they are easier to pick up". |
