Looking to purchase a heavyweight Pullman platform railing, complete with gates ( preferred ) and brass accents, for recently completed upgrade on a now Amtrak compatiable business car. Looking for "standard" open platform type railing that was common on most open platform cars. Car is owned by a regional railroad, and is operational. All inquiries and leads are appreciated ! |

If this inquiry is not successful, please remain in contact with us as I am collating our wood car database. This past weekend I entered a large variety of private car observation railings drawings, some of which may be similar to your needs, including brass capping. Sincerely, Ted Anderson |

Might be of help to you, don't know how often original sets of brass railing and gate sets come up for sale, maybe once and a blue moon. As in the past couple of years I and some fellow Heavyweight car owners have been looking for some our selves. This leads me to say that I've been in touch with a man that is reproducing the brass railings that cap what would be a standard Pullman gate set. Our group was able to find a used set of original railing to use, but more resources are always welcome is what I say. Please contact me directly (Pullmanpolo@hotmail.com) as I'll look for the information on the individual who was having all the brass cast. If anything the more of us out there that might need a set of these castings could help off set the cost of the patterns and casting cost. |
