German technical and transportation museum, south and east of Heidelberg, with about 20 locomotives, including a Kriegslok in wartime camoflage colors. They appear nicely restored and presented, indoors.

Wow, a dazzle-painted kriegslok, a Bugatti Royale, a Deutsche Reichsbahn Hudson and a Tupolev 144! Gotta go there. Especially since one of my favorite technological history books is "Soviet SST," a fascinating and freaky story about building a 1,500-mph airliner with steam-backshop technology. Hmm - now that the "Polar Express" name is painted out, I wonder how a certain other wartime engine would look in dazzle paint?
