The Cass Scenic Railroad, through the Mountain State Railroad & Logging Historical Association, is hiring interpreters for the Summer 2006 season.

I'll be honest: the pay isn't great, but I've done it two summers and loved it, and the room and board are free. And, as it did for me, it can help a resume later on if you're young and thinking of pursuing a relevant career path.

Responsibilites include giving tours of the locomotive shop, logging camp, and company town and delivering onboard train commentary. Knowledge of history, logging, railroading, or steam mechanics a definite plus, but not entirely necessary.
