Post subject:  Franklin & Tilton

A former B&M branch in New Hampshire that I surely thought was gone by now. Apparently not:

It used to connect the two main north-south Boston & Maine lines in New Hampshire, between Franklin Junction and Tilton, but was severed in the 1930s, when a flood took out a big covered bridge over the Merrimack River. After that, it was a short branch from Tilton serving a couple of mills, operated with 0-6-0s and later 44-tonners. The line also had (has?) a unique upside down covered bridge.
