Post subject:  How do I post a photo with my post?

Dear Moderators,

I have noticed that some of the posts on this board have photos included in them. I would like to know how to do this.

Thanks in advance,

They are not uploaded to the RyPN server; instead, they are image links to a photo already hosted elsewhere on the Web.

Type the URL of the photo into your post, highlight it, and click the Img button above.

So if one simply has their own pixel-photos "stored" on their own computer, they can't "insert" or "attach" it (like you can with an e-mail)?

How 'bout I send, by US Mail, some good 'ol black & white 8x10s? That's about my speed..... I think it's time to bring the Speed Graphic out of hibernation.

No. Each photo must have its own web address ending with the letters, .jpg or .jpeg
I use www.VillagePhotos.com as the host for my pictures, and there are many other image hosting sites out there as well.

Basically you upload images to these hosting websites and each image is automatically given its own address. You then paste that address into the text box when writing your message, making sure to place "[img]" before and after the address. (as Erik pointed out, roll your cursor over the photo's address and highlight it, then click the [img] button.

The photo then appears (instead of the web address) along with whatever you wrote for a posting.

Hope this helps.
Stephen

PS - here's an address for a photo -

And here's the same photo with [img] inserted before and after the very same web address.

Thanks, Stephen. I will have to set something like that up one of these days.

By the way, whose basement is that? It can't be an enginehouse; too clean and neat....and sheetrocked and spackled, too!!

lol, well Howard, we can't all have fancy metal buildings, yet...
What you can't see, out of view on the left, is the pool table and oak bar salvaged from a Waterville pub ;-)
But seriously, how's the RMNE shop building coming along?
