I know this topic has come up before, but upon searching the archives, it was back in 2004. Those leads are coming up dry. Where is everybody buying their headlight bulbs from now?? This is the 250W 32-34v headlight bulb for the traditional steam loco headlights. Thanks in advance!! |

Bernie Watts....Backshop enterprises....303/424-6882 I will spare you(and all)having to read through a multi paragraph detailed explanation of why Mr. Watts bulbs are the best, here is the short of it. Steam locomotive bulbs were built with a specific size and shape filament and a specific pattern on the supports, these are the only real steam loco bulbs available in this country, all others regardless of the manufacturer are made in china to a design suited only for "non-vibration service". Bernie had a batch made in europe, it took two different companies in as many countries to put this all together....but here it is, take advantage of it. Assuming voltage is constant these bulbs will last as long or longer than the steam era GE bulbs. Those who know say,"shop Backshop for all the finest in steam locomotive appliance parts service and supplies." ;-) |
