In San Francisco, during a dockworkers' strike in 1934. The two 0-6-0s later went to the Yreka Western and were scrapped in the 1950s. The roundhouse and sandhouse (foreground) remain today, converted to offices, with huge pipe bracing inside for earthquake protection. Last time I was there, the roundhouse still had not found tenants. One of the developers in the sandhouse said he had no idea what a sandhouse was. GGRM has all the remaining State Belt equipment; too bad it couldn't have ended up on display here, in this active tourist area. The only active trackage left in the area is that used by the F Market trolleys.
