| Post subject: | LIRR G5s #35 has been moved |
LIRR commuter locomotive #35, a PRR design 4-6-0 from Juniata Shop was moved from an obscure siding to the yard at Oyster Bay, New York. The move was accomplished by taking the loco apart and transporting it on trucks to the Bay. The locomotive spent it's last evening in service at Oyster Bay yard in October, 1955. Plans call for a complete rebuild and reassembly. Best wishes to the Friends of Locomotive #35! Let's see some photos of the move. Aurora7@juno.com |

Thanks for the good wishes. The website will be updated with photos as soon as I get some from people who were photographing the event. The move to Oyster Bay is a major advance for our project. We are finally in a place that is historically relevant for the locomotive and where the politicians and community want us and are willing to support us.
