Sadly, I must report the passing of TVRM co-founder and President Robert M. Soule, at his home, earlier this evening. He had been a member since helping to charter TVRM in 1961, and President for the past 25 years. His steady hand through both periods of growth and difficult financial times have shaped what TVRM is today, and will be in the future. I hope everyone will keep the Soule family in their thoughts and prayers.

A sad day indeed for railroad preservation. It was a privilage to work with such a fine man and quite literally learn the workings of a railroad under someone like him. Without his guidance, perserverance and hard work TVRM would probably not exist today. There were hard times and times that we TVRM members might not have always agreed with him on certain things but his memory will live on in the organization that he put so much of his life into.

Bob Soule was a true gentleman who demonstrated extraordinary devotion to railroad history and preservation. TVRM will long bear his stamp and I will long remember his kindness.
