You have to join the Railcritters Yahoo group to see this, but it has been a puzzler there as to what industrial site this locomotive worked at. It appears much like one of the little 30-inch gauge Porter 0-4-0Ts that Edaville had (has?), which came from a copper plant in New Jersey. Anyone know?

Bob, I believe this would be the Anaconda #9, now at the Pine Creek Railroad in Wall, NJ. It was apparently involved in a fire at some point which was evident when I saw it. Edaville has the nos. 10 and 11 (the latter of which has had its tank removed)

Ed:
How long ago did you see #9? Its never been in a fire while at Pine Creek. It is in rough shape today from being displayed outdoors for many years, but has never been in a fire while at NJMT.

I can back Mr. May up. I saw it a few weeks ago and over the past five years have seen it often. It was never in a fire.

I finally got into the yahoo group to see the pictures and they are outstanding shots. There's a couple I have never seen before. The #9 was essentially a running locomotive when it came to Pine Creek and was a very popular spot for family pictures and such. During the mid 1970s an artist made a rubber ballon of the #9. No idea what the status of the balloon might be today.

Again, the #9 has never been in a fire while at NJMT.

These are great pictures! Thanks for hunting them up.

My apologies! Either I heard wrong or am deeply confusing this with something else...
