All this talk about boiler explosions leads me to ask what ever happened to Benson Mountain Company? I heard they made some loco and taction boilers that were ASME and have all been condemned, as well as some repairs nixed. I spoke to one fellow who knew a guy that had them check out his boiler for a tube job, BMC told him it was condemnable, so he had a new boiler built. He since found out that his old boiler was OK with new tubes. Are they still in buisiness? |

For what it's worth, their webpage does not exist anymore. There was a discussion on the Live Steam board about them, you can find the thread at http://www.chaski.com/wwwboard/live_ste ... /9550.html Roger > All this talk about boiler explosions leads > me to ask what ever happened to Benson > Mountain Company?
