Post subject:  Point St. Charles Shops

Due to a train being blown over on our bridge over the St. Lawrence, we've been detouring over the CN between Montreal and Rouses Point. I was surprised to see the old Pt. St. Charles CN shops in Montreal now abandoned, with all tracks removed. Reportedly, they are due for demolition and replacement by condos, after a major environmental cleanup of the area. Last time I saw them, they were still in use by railcar manufacturer Alsthom, which still has some signs on the buildings. Couldn't find any photos, but here are some semi-related articles:

Five steam locomotives that were built there still exist.
