Illinois Railway Museum has its own Yahoo group for discussion, that many might find valuable. There is a lot of detailed discussion of ongoing projects and techniques used in restoration, plus many photos of them in the photos section. Yes, it is a good way to keep current on news and views. Several hundred members, but I should point out it is NOT an official IRM site, but run by two of our members who 'own' and 'moderate' the site.
