Well, just when I think I know about every rusty railroad relic hiding in my extended backyard... I went down to Brielle, NJ to the marina where the CNJ ferry Cranford sat for decades as someone told me the building next to the old ferry location was built with the bodies of two Public Service trolley trailers. And it was going to be demolished. Well, it was demolished. Does anyone know if a) there really were trolley bodies in ther and if so b) were the wrecked in the demolition? Rob Davis |

I believe the building was indeed demolished. However the Branford Electric Railway Association stripped at least one PSNJ trailer on the site for parts before the building was torn down, acquiring some interior fittings, seats, and other parts. BERA owns the body of a PSNJ trailer of the same type as what was in Brielle so they will be able to put the parts to good use. This information comes from the December 2005 issue of Branford's newsletter The Tripper. |
