Presently sitting in Milford, New York, here the USATC 0-6-0 was at Fort Eustis in 1952. Renumbered to 618 by the Army in 1954, it was sold to the Virginia Blue Ridge in 1958, as No. 8. Then it started the Walter Rich empire of shortlines as No. 2 on his short-lived Delaware-Otsego tourist RR, moving later to his Cooperstown & Charlotte Valley, when freeway construction obliterated the former Ulster & Delaware right of way that the D-U ran on. http://donsdepot.donrossgroup.net/usa4038.jpg |
