Colorful view of its former appearance, now much changed:

I, for one, like the looks of # 90 with her extended smokebox. My question is, do ony of the four surviving Great Western steamers still have their extended smokeboxes?

Smokebox was trimmed back to the "as built by Baldwin" length several months ago.

and the rebuild goes on.....

Well, #60 still does.

Anyone have any clue as to when it will poke that long smokebox out of the Ringoes enginehouse?

Folks,

The strasburg 90 is a neat locomotive!. Back when I still lived on Long Island, I took my new girlfriend to Strasburg,PA. We rode behind the 90, stayed at the Red Caboose Motel and of course paid a visit to the RR Museum of Pennsylvania.

Sad to hear that the Motel has fallen on hard times and may have closed.

Guess it is time to go back for a another look.
