Not technically a Trainmaster, H24-66, but an incredible simulation! Thank goodness for the Canadians and Mexicans, or we might not have the few remaining examples of these big locomotives. |

Does anybody know who had this particular loco before Squaw Creek or Peabody got it? It is indeed a complete "fantasy" unit, as CP never had an H16-66. TVA and Alcoa bought one each; six went to MILW, and C&NW had the other 50. The "Baby Train Master" body style (high walkway, etc.) indicates a loco built between 1954 and 1958; C&NW had both styles of H16-66........... My notes say "Peabody Coal/Squaw Creek 721001 to Alberta Pioneer Ry. Assn., Edmonton", but the photo caption says Calgary--private collection". |
