Seeing the recent thread with the video clip of SP 2-8-2 745 in action (and thanks to Doug Bailey for that clip) got me to wondering. There seems to be two Southern Pacific steamers in Louisiana right now. Mogul number 1744's career as a tourist operation engine didn't seem to pan out, and the engine has been offered for sale. Mike # 745 has run, but I am not sure if there has been much income yet for the folks who have spent the time and money to fix her up. And, there seems to still be a need to help the folks down in Louisiana from the after effects of the hurricanes of last year. I just wondered if there might be some way we could offer a way to help everyone. Perhaps a double headed steam passenger trip. And a day or two of steam freights with the two locomotives. Just seems like an opportunity. Any other thoughts? JAC?

Ok, Where are you going to run them?
All of 745's trips are passenger-less, probably because there are no coaches in the group (and insurance is not a problem with no passengers?)

Also the 1744 is owned by a different company that wants to sell it.
