The new trip guide for the railroads 2006 season is now out and is available online at the following link. http://www.chamasteam.com/info/ctsmc/tripguide06.pdf This is a PDF file and can be downloaded and printed. I would encourage all of you to consider taking the time and ride this wonderful narrow gage line. It will take you through 64 miles of mountain railroading at its best. Stay in Chama, ride the train from Chama, NM to Antonito, CO and ride the bus back to Chama. During that trip you will experiance climbing a 4% grade from Chama to Cumbres Pass, then you will experiance some of the most breath taking views of the mountains you will ever experiance. Besides where else can you double head up a mountain and ride behind vintage steam 7 days a week? |
