I talked to Fred in 1996. I have not heard if he is still at Strasburg. I was there in 1996. I am a member of the Indiana Railway Museum in French Lick, Indiana. Chris Brown |

Answer ain't that simple, Erik. Strasburg, like many other companies (including the bigger railroads) may well have a President, a Chief Executive Officer, a Chief Financial Officer, a General Manager, and lawd knows what else. Remember, part of the Strasburg's legend was making every stockholder a Vice President (and thus conveying the perks of free rail travel passes, etc.), to the extent that when the railroad reopened in 1959 there were something like 45 VP's! That having been said, though, I think Bartels' position was General Manager or something, and that he hasn't been with the Strasburg for some years. A quick Google search comes up with some information technology specialist at a school in New York State............ |
