Last year when we were actively looking for a 65' armstrong table, I ran across what looks like a big one. From the photos, it looks like it is about 100'. Now it is covered with vegetation but it looks like it is all there. There is the old Lehigh Valley yard in Manchester NY. From what little information I gathered, the yard now belongs to Manchester Township and they are looking to develop the property as a commercial area. I do not think they want to include the table in that plan so it might be available. Later! Mr. Ed |

Please try to get the length of the table when you go there so anyone interested will know that important fact. Is the Lehigh Valley group trying to preserve this site for their use or is this mostly a clean-up with no plans beyond that? |

From what I understand, the LVRHS is just cleaning up the site. they dont own the property, and have no plans to attempt to do anything about it as far as I know.. (im not a member, but have been meaning to join! I should finally get around to doing that..) sadly, the roundhouse is a wreck. I dont think it can be saved for any useful purpose. the entire roundhouse floor was paved over in concrete sometime after 1976, and was used for awhile as a warehouse. the roof and walls are a mess. it probably hasnt seen any maintenance in 60 years. I dont think the LV even used it in the diesel era, I have never seen a photo of it in use after steam. I will try to get down there soon and take some new pics and measure it! Scot |

Thanks for the photos Scot. I lost all of that information when the e-machine crashed last year. I figured someone might be able to put the table to good use. And since I have just discovered this site about two months ago I didn't see your post from last April. Later! Mr. Ed |
