Can anyone tell me where I can purchase a bale of cotton waste?

If you are planning to use it in bearing journals only use the larger diameter yarns (not the thread size stuff). The smaller stuff will more easily work under the bearings causing problems. In oil cups, the smaller threads are okay.

You should be able to buy it in 50lb bales from your local rag supplier. It is called wiping waste and should run about $60 bucks a bale.
