Still there at Jim Thorpe, PA, last I knew. CNJ 774 was scrapped after a brave attempt to save it.

Bob,
That's a great photo. It reminds me of a friend of mine from Manville, NJ.
who worked as a firemen for the CNJ out of Raritan.

He told me a story about his first time he was to fire by himself on one of those camel backs. being by yourself in the firemen postion he was quite nervis and he was shoveling his #%&$ off. Well, when they got to Jersey city he went up to see the engineer to ask how he did, and the engineer told him to sit down in his seat. he had wondered if he had done something wrong. Then the engineer said " kid take a break, I havn't had that much steam in 20 years".
My friend Al was suprised and pleased.
