Everyone, Does anyone have drawings of lever operated cylinder cocks and or good photos that they would be kind enough to share with me? Any help will be appreciated as I build my 1 1/2" scale model mogul. Thanks in advance, JD Johnson, Morehead and North Fork Railroad Historian |

Check the cyclopedias. Most have a beveled section of bar sliding in a slot that pushes a poppet valve off its seat to open. The lever moves the beveled bar. Others, mostly on industrial or foreign steam, are like quarter turn plug cocks in tapered seats. dave |

If you will either PM me or send an email to jhbohon@yahoo.com I will be glad to mail you what I have. I am working on the same request for another live steamer builder. John Bohon |

These are very similar to what I want to build. I beleive however, that the lever mechanism is in the center of the cock on the ones I wish to build. Thanks for the response, JD Johnson, Morehead and North Fork Railroad Historian |

Ooooo. What's that white stuff on the ground in those photos? I didn't see it... I didn't see it. |

You mean the slush from the winter storm? These pictured are the quarter turn plug cock variety, less common on larger American steam power. dave |

I am somewhat of an environmentalist but could care less about the white stuff. What I would like to know more about is the interesting little locomotive I can see only part of. Could you please tell us more about this little beauty? Thanks in advance. John Bohon |

You have a wonderful little engine. I could run that one around my yard with room to spare. What is the gage? Good luck with the restoration and thanks for the information and photos. John Bohon |
