Gents:

Just to follow up on the listing of CP water towers for sale. The towers (2 of them!) are at the former SOO line Shoreham shops complex. They must be dismantled by a professional contractor (or proof that you are professional and you have sufficient insurance to prove it. It would be a shame for these to just go to the junk pile. If there is anybody in the St. Paul area who is needing a water tower, this might be the ticket.

What is the latest for Shoreham Shops? Last I heard it had been declared a historic site and there were some vague plans to save the remaining buildings. What happened to the turntable? I'd heard it has been re-installed at Mason City, IA. Is that true?

The city where Shoreham is located in has decleared the site historic. CP wants to destroy the remaining roundhouse other buildings to make way for future industrial development. Something standing in the for both historic or industrial use is the Hazmat pollution in te soil on the site. I will try to find out more about the situation. Last I heard the city was fighting hard to save the site, but te future of it was still in limbo. I will also try to find out what exactly remains at Shoreham. I know the Roundhouse is still there, the turntable is gone. If I remember correctly, the old car shop might still be there also.
