Chama Steam 2006 WILL happen on October 21, 2006.

This excursion is a 'sure go', whether it is fully subscribed or not,
barring equipment problems, fire shutdowns, tornados or Acts of God.

The exact scenario is, as always, dependent on the weather and availability of equipment.
Briefly:
On Saturday, October 21, The train will
TRIPLE-HEAD
to Cumbres Pass with as many freight cars as we can get.
We will proceed to Osier with numerous runbys along the way, have lunch, and


DOUBLE-HEAD

back to Cumbres, then return to Chama, again with several runbys on the way.
Consist will be freight cars, rider gons, 2 cabooses and possibly one coach.

All freight equipment and locomotives will be lettered "Rio Grande".
Sack lunch and drinks will be provided.
A couple of special surprises are also in the plans.
On Sunday, October 22, we will host yard and shop tours.

I will host a free buffet dinner and cash bar at Foster's on Saturday night.
Special discounts will be available at selected lodging places in Chama.
Limited to 50 participants.
